What contracts are eligible for HP Contractual LaserJet Toner Cartridge?

HP and HP’s channel partners engage business customers in different types of printing contracts. The HP Contractual LaserJet Toner cartridges are available to customers in both Managed Print Services (MPS) and Channel-led Managed Print Services (OPS) engagement, and to customers under the Enterprise Supplies Program (ESP) and Strategic Supplies Program (SSP) with HP or an HP channel partner.

What is Managed Print Services and Channel-led Managed Print Services?

HP and HP’s channel partners offer Managed Print Services (MPS) and Channel-led Managed Print Services (OPS) solutions that provide proactive; end-to-end management of a customer’s imaging and printing needs from a single, globally trusted partner. Through MPS & OPS, starting with an assessment, customers can optimise their imaging and printing infrastructure, control assets and costs, and improve document workflow.

What is an Enterprise Supplies Program (ESP) or Strategic Supplies Program (SSP) contract?

HP and HP’s channel partners offer business customers the choice to engage in an ESP or SSP contract. Such contracts allows business customers to optimise their printing cost by agreeing to purchase Original HP supplies for a specified period of time in return for a volume discount. Customers operating under such a volume discount supplies contract have been receiving standard Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges. From 1 Sep 2011, they will start receiving the HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges for the seven SKUs listed above. For all other SKUs, they will continue to receive the Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges.

Why is HP introducing these SKUs?

HP often provides custom offerings for business customers based on assessments of their unique imaging and printing environment, which often consist of a combination of hardware/supplies, software, and services to meet their specific needs.

How are the HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges different from currently available Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges?

The HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridge provides exactly the same features and benefits as Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges; the only difference is in the packaging and reorder product number.

What kind of quality can customers expect from the HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridge?

HP customers using HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges can expect the same performance (quality, reliability, yield, etc.) as from standard Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges.

What is the difference between the blue-boxed and the black and white-boxed HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges?

Starting in 2009, HP refreshed its branding with a new packaging design. Customers will likely see both the old blue-boxed and current black and white-boxed design on several HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges until inventories of the old brand design are depleted.

Where can I find the page yield on HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges?

HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges have the same yields as their corresponding Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges. Only the packaging and the reorder product number are different.

When did HP begin providing the HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges?

HP began providing HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges to business customers in January 2010.

I am a current MPS customer. Why can't I use the HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges for my non-MPS printers?

The HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges will not be sold in transactional markets and are only offered through Managed Print Services (MPS) and Channel-led Managed Print Services (OPS) contracts, or through Enterprise Supplies Program (ESP) and Strategic Supplies Program (SSP) contracts, by which customers purchase cartridges under contract for a specified volume and a specified period.

Why doesn't HP offer the HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges more broadly?

The HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges will not be sold in transactional markets and are only offered through Managed Print Services (MPS) contracts and Channel-led Managed Print Services (OPS) contracts, or through Enterprise Supplies Program (ESP) and Strategic Supplies Program (SSP) contracts, by which customers purchase cartridges under contract for a specified volume and a specified period.

Why is HP restricting the distribution of these cartridges?

The HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges are available only for Managed Print Services (MPS), Channel-led Managed Print Services (OPS), Enterprise Supplies Program (ESP), or Strategic Supplies Program (SSP) contracts. HP makes the HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges available to channel partners only in cases where the partner services an MPS or OPS account or offers Enterprise Supplies Program (ESP) or Strategic Supplies Program (SSP) contracts.

Is the HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridge a remanufactured cartridge?

No. The HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridge is not refilled or remanufactured, and it offers all the same features and benefits of Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges.

Will HP accept the HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges as part of its cartridge recycling program?

Yes, the same recycling program is in place for HP Contractual LaserJet cartridges as for standard Original HP cartridges. Customers can either use the recycling guide that is in the box or go to their country’s HP website to print a return label (subject to each country’s participation in the program).
